Care & Sizing Guide

Luxury begins with the perfect fit. Use this guide to Size, prep, and care for your custom Crown & Crystal nails, ensuring the longest-lasting, most seamless wear.

Sizing

A precise fit is key to comfort, longevity, and a seamless luxury look. Please use one of the methods below before ordering your custom set.

Sizing Kit (Recommended)

At-Home Measuring

The most accurate way to determine your exact nail sizes.

If you don’t have a sizing kit, you can measure your natural nails using simple tools at home.

  • Choose a sizing kit in your preferred shape and length.

  • Test each nail size on every finger (the correct size should fit sidewall to sidewall with no pressure).

  • Log the number that fits each finger on both hands (thumb to pinky)

    This becomes your custom size.

  • Cut a small piece of tape (or use a soft measuring tape).

  • Place it across the widest part of your natural nail (sidewall to sidewall).

  • Mark the edges of your nail on the tape

  • Remove the tape and measure the distance between the marks in millimeters (mm).

  • Repeat this for every finger — sizes can vary on each hand.

  • Add your measurements in the Sizing/Notes section during checkout.

  • I will match your measurements to the closest nail sizes for a precise fit.

Please Note: Because each set is handcrafted to your exact measurements, Crown & Crystal cannot replace or refund sets made with incorrect sizes. Please double-check your sizing before ordering.

Care & Prep

How to Prep Your Natural Nails

Application

The most accurate way to determine your exact nail sizes.

Proper prep is the key to long-lasting, comfortable wear.

How to Apply Your Press-On Set

  • Remove any old product
Take off gel, polish, leftover glue, or residue.

  • Gently push back cuticles

  • Shape & lightly buff

  • Wipe each nail with alcohol to remove oils and moisture.

  • Make sure nails are completely dry
Avoid lotions, oils, or water before application

  • Ensure nails are fully prepped
(Clean, buffed, dehydrated, and cuticles pushed back.)

  • Choose your adhesive method

    • Nail Glue — best for long wear

    • Adhesive Tabs — best for short-term or event wear

  • Apply your adhesive

    • Glue: Apply a thin, even layer to your natural nail (and a small amount inside the press-on).

    • Tabs: Select the tab that fits your nail, apply it, and peel off the top film.

  • Place the press-on nail
Line it up with the cuticle first, then press it down firmly onto the nail.

  • Hold firmly for 20–30 seconds

  • Avoid water or steam for 1–2 hours
This allows the adhesive to fully cure and gives you the longest wear.

Removal

How to Safely Remove Your Press-Ons

  • Prepare a warm soak
Use warm water, a little soap, and a few drops of cuticle oil or olive oil.

  • Soak for 10–15 minutes
Gently wiggle the nails as they begin to loosen.

  • Lift gently
Once the edges lift, slide the press-on off slowly.

  • Use a soft buffer and a little oil to remove any remaining adhesive.

  • Rehydrate your nails
Wash hands and apply cuticle oil to restore moisture.

Reuse Tips

How to Store Your Press-Ons

Treat your nails like jewelry — proper storage keeps them beautiful and reusable.

  • Remove old glue from the back of each nail only when softened — never pry or scrape aggressively.

  • Avoid soaking the nails for too long if you plan to reuse them.

  • Handle them gently during removal to maintain their shape and structure.

  • With proper wear and removal, many sets can be worn multiple times.

  • Store them in the Crown & Crystal box or a clean, dry container.

  • Keep them away from heat, moisture, or direct sunlight.

  • Let the nails dry completely after removal before storing.

  • Keep your size card/sizing info with your set for easy future orders.
